PRESENT: Chairman Cllr G. Scrini, Councillors Mrs. B. Barber, P Baines, P Cable, F. Clark and J. Cobb
The Precept application was discussed in detail. The results of the recent questionnaire completed as part of the Parish Plan showed that the residents would be prepared to accept a reasonable increase in council tax for improved village amenities. The council therefore felt justified in asking for a precept of £3756 made up as follows:–
Playing Fields, Greens and Open Spaces £300
Grass Verges £200
Churchyard Maintenance £700
Litter bins, seats and signs £50
Bus Shelters £250
Village Hall £1170
Less BDC contribution of £208 = £3756
Street Cleaning Grant applied for £196
a) A cheque for £110 (000627) was needed to continue the application for Land Registration. This was approved.
b) The council were informed that the two new streetlights requested about 10 years ago are now being fitted by NCC at the Stokeham Road entrance to the village.
There was no further business discussed and the meeting closed at approximately 8.15 p.m.
